Going on the Record

“We are now on the record and recording” – Once the proceeding is ready to begin, the host or co-host is responsible for starting the deposition and taking it “On the Record”. After confirming that everyone is ready and that they are assigned the correct roles, the host will click the green Off Record button to begin the proceeding, the button will turn red and display “On Record” indicating the proceeding has started to all attendees.

Whether the deposition is video recorded or not is typically set ahead of time, though the host can adjust those settings, and the record’s status will be displayed in the upper left of the video element. See how a host takes a proceeding on the record in the two-minute video beside this text.
